The area used to house a military airfield and car wrecking activities; the intervention includes <strong>reclamation and landscaping<\/strong>, with the creation of new services and sports and recreational facilities.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The redevelopment project focuses on two key aspects: <strong>forestation<\/strong>, with increased tree density and the planting of new trees to define a new edge of the Park, <strong>and the reorganization of paths<\/strong> and accesses to reconnect the Park to the City and the various surrounding neighborhoods<em>(Quadraro Don Bosco, Alessandrino, Tuscolano, Centocelle, Prenestino Labicano<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initial phase of the project will include the <strong>planting of about 500 trees<\/strong> to create an &#8220;urban forest&#8221; and the installation of <strong>a dedicated play area for children.<\/strong> At the same time, the executive project will be implemented to create <strong>new paths and accesses<\/strong>, including those on <strong>Via di Centocelle, Viale Togliatti and Via Santi Romano<\/strong>. The second phase plans to expand the current extension of the Park and to build <strong>major new facilities<\/strong>, affecting an area of <strong>about 52 hectares<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activities will include the construction of a <strong>large Playground<\/strong>, reusing the existing 350-meter runway to place <strong>basketball, tennis, table tennis, volleyball and athletic lanes<\/strong>. With the same philosophy, a <strong>Park Square<\/strong> is planned as a <strong>multifunctional space<\/strong> to accommodate performances, events, outdoor educational activities, study\/reading, temporary markets, cinema, etc.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>water plaza<\/strong> is planned within the plaza, with a fountain, where <strong>people<\/strong> can cool off and get wet through the presence of water splashes and vaporized water that allows <strong>people to cool off in summer periods.<\/strong> The creation of a Park Square at the main entrance on Casilina Street, with an interactive fountain, will be planned. Entrances and information graphics will be designed to make the Park easily identifiable.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The abandoned railway track <strong>will be reclaimed as a botanical and bicycle promenade<\/strong>, with access to the underground tunnels through new entrances and guided tours. The abandoned railway cut will be enhanced as a <em><strong>&#8220;natural monument&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> of remarkable biodiversity, offering additional significant spaces within the Park. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The project aims to return to the city a large green area that plays an environmentally important role for a large urban area.
